The Palace of Art was built as a gallery for the Glasgow Corporation’s art collection in 1938.

Since 1951, it has alternately fallen into states of disrepair and undergone extensive redevelopment, but the modernist exterior and structure have remained the same.

It is now used as a private training centre for Scotland’s elite athletes who train daily around a sculpture atrium in the centre of the building.
